High-efficient surface tailoring via reverse atom transfer radical polymerization and reversible addition-fragmentation chain-transfer polymerization in an aqueous system initiated by a monocenter redox pair

The commonly used multi-center initiation methods always lead to the formation of quantities of homopolymer in the surface tailoring based on reverse atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) and reversible addition-fragmentation chain-transfer (RAFT) polymerization. In this study, a monocenter redox pair constructed of silica bearing tert-butyl hydroperoxide groups and ascorbic acid (SiO₂-TBHP/AsAc) was applied to substitute the commonly used initiation method of R-supported RAFT grafting polymerization. All the propagating radicals were restricted on the surface of solid particles during the whole procedure theoretically, resulting in a higher grafting efficiency of 95.1% combined with the “controllable” feature at 10 h. This redox pair was also used to initiate the reverse ATRP in miniemulsion successfully with a grafting efficiency of 86.3% at 10 h. The grafting efficiency obtained under this monocenter initiation method was significantly higher than that of the frequently reported surface modification by reverse ATRP and RAFT polymerization. In addition, the high-efficient surface tailoring was traced and confirmed by nuclear magnetic resonance, Fourier transform infrared, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, transmission electron microscopy, and other analysis tests. The advantage of this monocenter redox pair will open a new avenue for the potential “high-efficient” surface tailoring of various materials.

Synthesis and properties of novel N,C,N terdentate skeleton based on 1,3-di(pyridin-2-yl)benzene moiety-new tricks for old dogs

Utilization of intermolecular Friedel-Crafts and intramolecular condensation reaction,novel 1,3-di-(pyridine-2-yl)benzene(N,C,N terdentate) skeleton with electro-withdrawing group in 6' position of pyridyl and a cyclization between 6' position of pyridyl and 6 position of benzyl ring were firstly designed and synthesized.The structures of these novel N,C,N terdentate were confirmed by NMR,MS and X-ray single crystalanalyses.The photophysical properties of these compounds were briefly explored.     

A general stability result for the semilinear viscoelastic wave model under localized effects

Our main goal in the present work is to address an integro-differential model under localized viscoelastic and frictional effects arising in the Boltzmann theory of viscoelasticity. More precisely, we consider a general version in the history context of the pioneer localized viscoelastic problem approached by Cavalcanti and Oquendo (2003) in the null history scenario, and more recently by Cavalcanti et al. (2018) in the history framework. By means of a new observability inequality, we prove a general stability result to the model under a weaker assumption on the localized frictional damping and a slower condition on the decreasing memory kernel (of polynomial type) than the previously mentioned works. To achieve such stability results, we still work in a general setting by removing the assumption on complementary damping mechanisms and show, in some reasonable situations concerning the density coefficient, that the localized viscoelastic effect is enough to ensure the general stability (of polynomial type) to the problem.     

新型非对称二苯并[b,f][1,5]二氮杂环辛四烯的合成

以两种不同取代的2-氨基二苯甲酮为原料,氯苯为溶剂,BF3-Et2O为脱水剂,通过分子间脱水一步环化缩合制备非对称二苯并[b,f][1,5]二氮杂环辛四烯衍生物。运用HPLC监控反应过程,优化合成工艺,得到最佳反应条件为:等物质的量的两种不同取代2-氨基二苯甲酮和BF3-Et2O,在氯苯中回流反应12 h。化合物4a^4c为新化合物,其结构经1H NMR,13C NMR和MS(ESI)表征。     

Optimal Sensor Placement Method Considering the Importance of Structural Performance Degradation for the Allowable Loadings for Damage Identification

Considering the importance of damage for the structural performance and for decreasing the identification error, this paper proposes an optimal sensor placement method based on a weighted standard deviation norm (WSDN) index. The standard deviation of the identified damage parameters is solved using the series expansion theory and probabilistic method to quantify the effect of a measurement error on damage identification. The damage estimation weight (DEW) index, which can reflect the importance of each element in the structural capabilities, is established based on a performance-damage curve. A significant DEW for a specified element indicates that the element is important for the structure and that its identification error should be small. The WSDN index is obtained from the Hadamard product of the standard deviations (SDs) and DEWs. Thus, the identification error of the entire structure is measured using the weighting coefficient. The optimal sensor placement (OSP) procedure is performed by minimizing the WSDN index. The proposed method can clearly decrease the uncertainties of the identification results for the important elements. Other OSP criteria, including the condition number, information entropy, and standard deviation norm, which aim to decrease the identification error, are discussed in this paper for comparison with the proposed method. Two numerical examples and an experiment, which pertain to the deformation performance, buckling features, and dynamic characteristics, are discussed to verify the advantages of the proposed method.
